Stadium BS: The Full Count Foundation Interview | Featuring Kirth Dozier

In this episode of Stadium BS, we sit down with Kirth Dozier, founder of the Full Count Foundation, to break down how baseball is creating real opportunities for underserved youth—both in the United States and around the world.

The Full Count Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has been making a major impact since 2016 by combining baseball, softball, and after-school programming to support kids in underserved communities. The results speak for themselves—over 70 players have gone on to play college baseball, and 100% of participants graduate and continue their education.

We also dive into the foundation’s growing international presence, including its partnership with J.A.M Academy in South Africa. While cities like Cape Town and Gauteng continue to grow the game, areas like Limpopo still need resources—highlighting both the progress and the work still ahead.

Kirth shares his personal journey, from falling in love with baseball as a kid to becoming a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, and how those early experiences shaped his mission today. We also talk about standout success stories like Jarren Purify, a Clemson standout and Full Count alum who is making serious noise at the collegiate level.

Looking ahead, the vision is clear: grow the game, create opportunities, and bring baseball back to prominence in communities like Detroit—while building a sustainable future by developing the next generation of players and leaders.

This is more than baseball—this is impact.

Stadium BS: The Impact of Softball in South Africa | Featuring Moses Maloba

In Part 5 of this series, we dive into the powerful impact of softball in South Africa with native standout Moses Maloba 🇿🇦🥎

Born in the Limpopo province, in the rural village of Seleteng, Moses was introduced to softball by his late brother, Justice Maloba. From that moment on, he fell in love with the game. While baseball is still growing in the region, softball has long been a major sport in Limpopo—and now both sports are seeing young athletes thrive.

Moses’ journey is nothing short of remarkable. At just 18 years old, he represented South Africa at the 1997 Junior World Softball Championship in Newfoundland, Canada, and quickly earned a spot on the senior national team the same year after an outstanding performance.

He went on to represent South Africa from 1997 to 2009 and served as Senior National Team Captain. Throughout his career, he competed in multiple World Championships:

    • 1997 – Junior World Championship

    • 2000 – East London

    • 2004 – New Zealand

    • 2009 – Saskatoon, Canada

Beyond his playing career, Moses has made a lasting impact through coaching:

    • Pitching Coach – Junior Men’s & Women’s National Teams

    • Assistant Coach – Senior Women’s National Team

    • Club Softball Coach

His love for the game also took him across the globe, competing annually in Sweden with the Royals club at the European Masters Championship.

This episode highlights not just a career, but the growing influence of softball in South Africa and the people driving the game forward.

  • Stadium BS: The Impact of Baseball in Cameroon with Arsel Giowou
    Apr 6 2026

What does it take to build baseball from the ground up in a country where the sport is still growing?

In this episode of Stadium BS, we sit down with Arsel Giowou, founder of the Harmony Baseball Academy, to talk about his mission to create opportunities for young athletes in Cameroon.

After being inspired by his experience in Japan, Arsel launched the academy in 2019 with one goal: give local kids access to a sport that can open doors. While baseball has existed in Cameroon since 1999, its development is still in the early stages—and Harmony Baseball Academy is working to change that.

We dive into the academy’s expansion beyond Yaoundé into cities like Douala and Bafoussam, and their ambitious plan to launch the country’s first youth baseball league this August.

But the journey isn’t easy. From visa challenges to the steep cost of international travel—often exceeding $40,000 for a single team—Arsel shares the real obstacles facing the growth of the game.

We also discuss how international partnerships, including a player evaluation trip to Canada with Diamond Baseball Academy in Laval, Quebec, are helping put Cameroon on the global baseball map.

This is a story about vision, resilience, and building something bigger than the game.

Unlike independent leagues, the CPL focuses on player development while maintaining a strong connection with its local communities.

The conversation also explored the league’s commitment to creating a unique fan experience, encouraging teams to develop creative promotions and entertainment concepts that keep fans coming back to the ballpark.
