    • Chords For The Soul with Violetta Suvini
      Dec 23 2025

🎙️ Welcome to this episode of Slay The Day – the Podcast!

I’m Miguel, and today we’re stepping into the world of orchestral power, contemporary classical music, and bold artistic vision with an incredible guest — Violetta Suvini.

Violetta is a violinist and creative force deeply rooted in both classical tradition and modern expression. You’ll know her through her work with Fantasia Orchestra, a dynamic ensemble redefining what orchestral music can be today. From genre-spanning programmes to residencies at iconic venues like Smith Square Hall, Fantasia is all about breaking boundaries — and Violetta is right at the heart of that sound.

We’ll be talking about Fantasia Orchestra’s new residency, their opening concert Birdsong, and how nature, emotion, and centuries of music collide on stage — from Handel and Mozart to Messiaen and Gershwin. We’ll also explore the growing connection between orchestral music and contemporary culture, including the rise of pop and experimental projects shaped by symphonic arrangements.

And of course, we’ll dive into what it means to be a modern orchestral musician today — collaboration, leadership, creativity, and finding new audiences without losing the soul of classical music.

So tune in, lean in, and get ready to Slay The Day — symphonically 🎻✨

    • Me, Myself and Mother! with Amrou Al-Kadhi
      Oct 11 2025

🎙️ Welcome to this episode of Slay The Day – the Podcast!

I’m WellWellMiguel, and today we’re diving into a world of drag, theatre, film, and fearless queer storytelling with an extraordinary guest — Amrou Al-Kadhi.

You’ll know Amrou as an award-winning writer, performer, and filmmaker, and of course for their dazzling drag persona Glamrou. From starring in American Horror Stories to writing the acclaimed memoir Life as a Unicorn, and directing their debut feature Layla, which premiered at Sundance 2024, Amrou’s work has been a masterclass in visibility, vulnerability, and vision.

Now, they’re bringing their explosive solo show GLAMROU: DRAG MOTHER to EartH Hackney on 18 October 2025 — a glitter-drenched fever dream where Glamrou faces their fiercest rival yet: their own Muslim mother. It’s a celebration of Arab identity, queerness, and self-expression — unfiltered, political, and gloriously alive.

We’ll be talking about drag as survival and self-love, about Arab queer representation in film and theatre, and about how Amrou turns faith, trauma, and family into radiant, radical art.

And of course — stick around for The Gay Agenda, where we’ll explore stories that echo Amrou’s journey: the bold, the spiritual, and the beautifully complicated world of queer identity. Also, please participate in our Q.I. – Queerly Interesting poll!
