  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 14, Part 1 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez
    Sep 29 2026

Class resumes as Bro. Ernie continues this study into The Book of ACTS. Get your Bibles, Notebooks and highlighters ready!

The gospel doesn’t drift into a city quietly. It lands, it divides the room, and it forces a decision and Acts 14 shows that clash in full color. Around the table, we keep our “simple presentation” moving through Acts 14:1–13, starting in Iconium where Paul and Barnabas preach in the synagogue, a great multitude believes, and opposition immediately ramps up. That tension becomes a theme we can’t ignore: when Jesus is preached, you often see revival and backlash side by side, and you need courage to stay faithful without becoming harsh.

We also slow down on a surprisingly practical piece of ministry wisdom: presentation matters. We talk about why Paul uses his Roman name, how to be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves,” and why being right isn’t the same as being effective. A real-life story and a simple illustration drive it home: don’t spill the “gumbo” of truth on people’s lap and then blame them for rejecting it. Kindness, courtesy, and love are not compromise; they are often the bridge that lets someone actually hear the message.

From there we connect Acts to the larger New Testament picture of signs and wonders. We read and reference Mark 16:17–20 and Acts 4:24–31 to show why healing, bold speech, and God’s confirming power are not reserved for a tiny group of celebrities. Finally, we head to Lystra where a crippled man is healed and the crowd tries to worship the apostles as gods, which opens a needed conversation about apostolic authority, servant leadership, and why titles never make anyone divine.

If this Bible study stretches you, share it with a friend, subscribe so you don’t miss the next part of Acts 14, and leave a review to help more people find the show.

  • Remembering 9/11 - Around the Table
    Sep 13 2026

We didn't intend on discussing 9/11, but it just happened...candid, raw stories of where we each were...what we felt and how we feel today. Have we forgotten?

9/11 is one of those dates that instantly rewires your memory, and we start there by going around the table and telling the truth about where we were, what we saw, and what we felt. Shock, grief, and fear hit fast, but so does something people do not always admit out loud: rage. We talk candidly about that surge, especially for those with a military background, and how a single moment can make you want vengeance more than you want redemption.

From that raw place, we move to the harder road of Christian discipleship: Jesus’ command to love your enemies and pray for those who misuse you. One story that stops us in our tracks is the conviction to pray for Saddam Hussein, not as a political statement, but as an act of obedience to God. We connect that struggle to the examples of Jesus on the cross and Stephen at his death, then to Psalm 91 and what it means to seek God’s protection without buying into a fantasy that faith equals comfort.

We also challenge a prosperity gospel mindset that measures blessing by money, image, or church “success,” and we bring it back to the real crux: how am I doing with Jesus as an individual? Finally, we talk about loving Muslims in everyday life, how to share Jesus with people shaped by extremist ideas, why “tolerance” can become cowardice, and why this is a spiritual battle that calls for prayer, truth, and compassion.

If this conversation pushes on something tender in you, listen all the way through, then subscribe, share the episode, and leave a review. What part of the discussion challenged you the most?

  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 13, Part 4 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez
    Sep 13 2026

Bro. Ernie continues taking us on this journey into The Book of ACTS. Today we finish up Chapter 13...hold on tight! Get your Bible, your highlighter and your notepad! Let's go!!!

Almost the whole city shows up to hear Paul preach and that’s when the pushback gets loud. We’re in Acts 13:42–52, watching a wildfire moment of spiritual hunger turn into open contradiction, blasphemy, and persecution, and then watching what Paul and Barnabas do next: they don’t water down the message, they get bold, and they keep moving.

We dig into why envy erupts when Jesus is preached as the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets, and how long-held expectations about a Messiah restoring an earthly kingdom can blind people to what God is actually doing. Along the way, we connect Acts to Acts 1 and to the prophetic backbone of the New Covenant in Jeremiah 31 and Ezekiel, where God promises a new heart and a new spirit. That thread brings it home for daily discipleship: we can’t live on secondhand faith. Prayer is not just talking, it’s listening, and the Holy Spirit still leads, teaches, and confirms truth through Scripture.

We also talk about the line that changes everything: “We turn to the Gentiles,” and how Isaiah’s “light to the nations” becomes a mission mandate for the church. Even when the city turns hostile and Paul and Barnabas shake the dust off their feet, the disciples stay filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost. If you want a clearer picture of Spirit-led Christianity, gospel courage, and what to do when people reject the message, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway.

  • The Gospel of St. John - Chapter 3, Part 3 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez
    Aug 28 2026

Bro. Ernie takes a deep dive with us as we finish up the The Gospel of St. John, Chapter 3. Get your Bibles, notebooks and highlighters ready!

John 3 is familiar, but the details can still stop you in your tracks if you slow down long enough to listen. We sit around the table and follow Jesus’ words to Nicodemus with fresh eyes, starting with the “born again” phrase and building a vivid picture from natural birth: water, trauma, new air, and the unmistakable sound of life. That framework helps us talk plainly about spiritual rebirth, faith, and why the new birth is more than a single moment or a slogan.

Then we zoom in on John 3:13, where Jesus raises the question of who has ascended into heaven and who has come down from heaven. We bring in Enoch (Genesis 5) and Elijah (2 Kings 2) to set the stage, and we wrestle with what Jesus is saying about heaven while standing on earth. From there, the conversation turns to the “only begotten Son of God” language, connecting John 1:14 and John 1:18, Psalm 2, Hebrews 1:5, and Acts 2:22–23 to ask what “begotten” means in time, how prophecy points forward, and how God’s foreknowledge shapes the story of Jesus of Nazareth.

We also push back on the urge to trap God inside neat theological boxes and endless debates over “isms,” and we land on a practical next step: prayerful Bible study that asks God to open our understanding (Luke 24:45). If you want a deeper, Scripture-rich dive into John 3, the virgin birth prophecies, and why “only begotten” matters for Christian theology, press play and study along with us. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review with the question you’re still wrestling with.

  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 13, Part 3(b) - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez
    Aug 28 2026

Bro. Ernie continues taking us on this journey through The Book of ACTS. Get your Bibles, notebooks and highlighters ready!

If you’ve ever wondered why one preacher says “just believe” while the Book of Acts keeps repeating repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost, we’re putting that question under a bright light. Around the table, we work through Acts with a simple but demanding tool: comparison and context. Luke doesn’t always quote sermons word for word, but the truth has to stay constant, because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

We start by naming what many of us feel right now: turmoil, tragedy, political upheaval, and a lot of spiritual noise. That chaos can shape our thinking if we let it, so we talk about discernment, false prophets, and why counterfeits only exist because the genuine gospel has real value. We share a practical approach that keeps us open to real ministry without swallowing every claim that sounds religious.

Then we move into the heart of the lesson: Peter in Acts 2, Paul in Acts 13, and the consistent apostolic preaching across Acts 3, Acts 8, and Acts 10. We trace the resurrection message through Joel, Psalms, and the covenant promises to David, and we connect “times of refreshing” with Isaiah 28 and the Holy Spirit baptism. The takeaway is clear and searchable: one gospel, one faith, and a consistent pattern in Acts that points to repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Certainty Over Hearsay - Around the Table Discussion
    Aug 25 2026

Listen as we gather "Around the Table" with Bro. Ernie Perez and Sis. Anne, Sis. Audia and myself as we dig a little deeper into the writings of Luke.

Luke doesn’t open with hype he opens with receipts. We slow down in Luke 1:1-4 and ask why a New Testament writer would emphasize eyewitnesses, an “orderly account,” and the word certainty. If your faith has ever felt shaky under pressure, this conversation brings you back to the kind of foundation that can hold weight: the Gospel of Jesus Christ grounded in testimony, integrity, and truth that can be checked.

From there, we connect Luke 1 to Acts 1 and follow Luke’s two-volume story: what Jesus began to do and teach, then what that teaching produces in the early church. We talk about Jesus giving commandments, not suggestions, and why that matters for Christian discipleship today. We also tackle a big question people still argue about: how can the disciples be used by God before Pentecost, yet still be told to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit?

One of the most memorable takeaways is this line: “Belief is conception. It is not birth.” We unpack what that means for being “born again,” spiritual growth, and why the book of Acts keeps a consistent Gospel pattern from Acts 2 forward. And we keep it practical: the Holy Spirit brings power so we can be witnesses, and your most powerful witness is often the personal testimony of what Jesus has done in your life.

Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s studying Acts, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What part of Luke’s “certainty” do you need most right now? (*Recorded on 8/19/2026)

  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 13, Part 3(a) - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez
    Aug 25 2026

Join us in class as Bro. Ernie continues to take us on this journey into The Book of ACTS! Get your Bibles, your Notebooks and Pens ready!!!

Paul ends a synagogue sermon with a line that should stop all of us cold: “Behold, ye despisers… and perish.” Why would a Spirit-led preacher warn religious people like that? We sit around the table and walk slowly through Acts 13, especially Paul’s claim that forgiveness of sins and true justification come through Jesus in a way the law of Moses could not fully accomplish. Then we trace his warning back to Habakkuk and talk about what happens when people cling to a lie for so long they lose the ability to see truth.

From there, we zoom out to the big question: what does it actually mean to believe the gospel? We bring in 1 Corinthians 15 and Jeremiah 31 to talk about the new covenant, repentance, and why church attendance without obedience can leave a person spiritually unchanged. We also share why comparison and context matter so much, because salvation cannot depend on buzzwords or someone else’s degree, it has to rest on Scripture and the risen Christ.

To make it concrete, we compare Paul’s message in Acts 13 with Peter’s Pentecost sermon in Acts 2. Same pattern, same proof, same risen Jesus, and the same moment of conviction that leads to the question, “What shall we do?” We follow Peter’s answer all the way through: repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, a promise that reaches “as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

If this helped you see the Book of Acts with fresh clarity, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave us a review so more people can find the podcast. (*Recorded on 8/19/2026)

  • The Gospel of St. John - Chapter 3, Part 2 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez
    Aug 15 2026

Bro. Ernie leads the class through a deep dive into what John is saying about being born again! Get your Bible, your notebook and let's go!

You can read John 3 a hundred times and still miss how practical Jesus is being with Nicodemus. We slow the conversation down and take Jesus at His word: “born again” is not presented as a slogan or a quick moment, but as a real birth process that starts with an experience and continues into growth, maturity, and eventually spiritual fruit. Around the table, we talk honestly about why people can respond to God, then struggle later, and how Christian discipleship keeps the seed of faith from shrinking back.

Brother Ernie walks line by line through John 3:8-12 and highlights the wind analogy: you cannot see wind, but you can hear it and feel its impact. From there, we trace a powerful Bible study theme that shows up again and again, the presence of God revealed through sound. We connect Exodus 19, Psalm 29, Elijah’s still small voice, and other Old Testament patterns to what Jesus is teaching Nicodemus, then we follow the thread forward into John 7 and Acts 2. If you care about Bible doctrine, Holy Spirit baptism, water baptism, and how the early church understood speaking in tongues, this lesson gives you Scripture to stand on, not just opinions.

We also clear up a common hang-up: the Holy Ghost is not something we earn or “get,” it is a gift we receive, just as Acts 2:38 says. The invitation is to open your Bible, “chase” the references, and seek a lived experience with God that matches the Word and keeps growing long after the first moment of belief. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review with the biggest question you still have about John 3 and being born again. (*Recorded on 8/12/2026)
