  • Jeremy Benson, "Mr. GRC", Talks Grand River Conference Sports!
    Jan 23 2026

In 1929, the Grand River Six was born and the long storied history of the Grand River Conference (GRC) began. The original six, Albany, Stanberry, Grant City, Bethany, Maysville and King City, began playing football and basketball in 1930. Along the way membership changed until a 16 team megaconference of small schools enticed Jeremy Benson to start covering all of it. What began as a small hobby, blossomed into grandriverconference.com, GRC Facebook, Twitter and Instagram comprehensive social media coverage of North Missouri sports. If you want a score or background story or deep statistical dive into the Grand River Conference season, grandriverconference.com and associated accounts have the latest and most accurate information. Recently the conference was aligned into two conferences (GRC and GRC West) but he still covers it all. Join us for the story of the conference, it's many GOATS of the GRC (who are found in Hall of Fames from Missouri to the College Football and NFL HOFs). Jeremy's passion for the GRC and it's teams comes through in this fun conversation!

The term Fearless Forecasters is common now, but as of the program's launch in 1969 there was only a Fearless Forecaster Newspaper Columnist in North Carolina that predates that term (by just one year, 1968!) in the world of college sports! Originally broadcast on KTTN-AM, it now airs on Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on KTTN-FM 92.3 during the football season. Our panel including several forecasters from different eras of the show and it's longtime moderator, John Anthony.
