Ernie Gruen’s False Prophets (1990) includes both his own interview and the testimony of a former Kansas City Fellowship member. Together, they document alleged abuses of prophetic authority, fabricated revelations, and manipulative practices within KCF. Gruen’s interview outlines his pastoral concerns, while the ex-member’s testimony provides firsthand accounts of deception, fear, and disillusionment. Today, we're diving into Ernie Gruen’s interview and the testimony of the former Kansas City Fellowship member, as documented in his book False Prophets.Aberrant Practices Document: https://tinyurl.com/y3hwhx2cThanks for hanging out with me today! If you have been blessed by this content and would like to help support the things we do here, you may do so by visiting: https://www.sheepamongwolves.org/supportFor everything SAW-related, check out our official website:www.sheepamongwolves.orgQuestions, comments, concerns, snarks, or conundrums? Following his sermon Do We Keep Smiling and Say Nothing?, Pastor Ernie Gruen issued an open letter to Mike Bickle and Kansas City Fellowship, charging the movement with aberrant practices, false prophecies, and spiritual manipulation, which Gruen believed were unbiblical and harmful, igniting a major controversy in the charismatic church world. It was later published in his book False Prophets and in the Aberrant Practices Document prepared with his staff. Today, we turn to that letter to uncover its warnings and consider their relevance for modern prophetic movements.Aberrant Practices Document: https://tinyurl.com/y3hwhx2cThanks for hanging out with me today! In the early 1990s, Kansas City pastor Ernie Gruen sounded an alarm against aberrant practices at Kansas City Fellowship—later known as the International House of Prayer (IHOP). His sermon, Do We Keep Smiling and Say Nothing?, was later published in his book False Prophets.
