  • 60: Shirin Shabestari on Mountain Adventures, Curiosity & Expanding Access to the Sport
    Feb 18 2026

So excited to welcome Shirin for a new episode. Her story begins in the mountains of Iran, growing up climbing alongside her dad, where she fell in love with adventure and the outdoors. Her connection to the mountains never left her and she kept it alive by leading expeditions back in Iran, becoming a climbing instructor and more recently, getting into ultra-running. We talk about coming into the sport with a mountaineering background, embracing the process, finding friendships and the curiosity and excitement for all the ultra challenges she has taken on and dreams of next. She also tells us more about her work with Into Ultra, that aims to provide financial support to runners so they get the chance to step on their dream start lines too. I hope you will enjoy the episode.

  • 59: Siân Longthorpe on Community, Transition & Running as a Constant
    Feb 4 2026

So happy to welcome Siân Longthorpe for this new episode of the podcast. Running has been a constant in her life, on the road and the trails, through different life stages, and more recently the transition to her new life as a woman. She shares more on her journey with us, the initial fears of loosing the community that means a lot to her, and how her relationship with running evolved, becoming an incredible way to process things and be immersed in nature. We talk about how she’s finding new joy in running, and why challenging biased media narratives by sharing different stories is essential, because we’re all human, and trans people belong in running. So grateful for her time and I hope you will enjoy the episode.
