À propos de ce contenu audio

Today, I get to sit down with someone whose brain I’ve wanted to borrow for a long time. My guest is Victoria Hudson, the founder and clinical powerhouse behind Restorative Resilience Counseling. She’s one of those rare therapists who has lived on the front lines of justice work, spending nearly fifteen years advocating for survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking before bringing that fire and depth into clinical practice.

Victoria has built a therapeutic space that’s honest, curious, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and radically welcoming. What’s especially exciting is that she’s now intentionally expanding beyond a traditional private practice model, growing Restorative Resilience into a broader wellness community that treats the wellbeing of clinicians as just as essential as the care we provide to clients. Her vision is slow, thoughtful, and deeply strategic, investing in clinicians at every stage of their professional journey and celebrating the real, hard-won progress toward more accessible and humanizing care becoming the norm rather than the exception.

She works with people who’ve spent years being dismissed or misunderstood, whether that’s because they’re neurodivergent, chronically ill, recovering from abuse, or trying to reclaim their identity after a lifetime of being told who they’re supposed to be. She’s the clinician people seek out when they’re ready to challenge old narratives, explore consent and autonomy in real ways, and finally put themselves back at the center of their own life.

Victoria describes therapy as a ‘creative exploration of possibilities,’ which is exactly the kind of phrase that tells you she’s both brilliant and grounded. Her work lives at the intersection of trauma, chronic illness, identity, sexuality, empowerment, and clinician sustainability, and she approaches all of it with a clarity and compassion that makes complicated things feel human again.

So today, we’re diving into all of it: consent as a lived experience, the overlaps between trauma and neurodivergence, why so many clients with dysautonomia end up running self-advocacy marathons, what empowerment actually looks like in daily practice, how clinicians survive systems that were never built for them, and how healing becomes possible when someone finally has permission to speak their truth.

This is going to be smart, tender, nerdy, a little rebellious, and genuinely transformative. This is The Sexy Nerd Podcast, and I am thrilled to welcome the incredible Victoria Hudson.”
