  • Making Friends in Your 20s Shouldn't Be This Hard
    Oct 20 2026

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

Making friends as a kid? Easy. Making friends in your 20s? Apparently, we need a scheduling assistant, three business days' notice, and a little emotional support.

This week on Say Less, Actually, Maddie and Ashton are talking about the weird, awkward, and sometimes exhausting reality of making and maintaining friendships in your 20s.

From figuring out how to navigate changing friendships, busy schedules, and the uncomfortable process of feeling like some people make it a competition, we're discussing why adult friendships can feel so much more complicated than anyone warned us.

We're talking about finding your people, knowing when to let friendships go, and realizing that sometimes the best connections happen when you least expect them.

Because making friends shouldn't feel like a job interview… but somehow, here we are.

Two best friends. Questionable social skills. A whole lot of opinions.

Say less? Actually, let's talk about it. 💕

  • Maddie Has Orca Lore, Ashton Has Concerns. | Orcas
    Oct 13 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Welcome back to Say Less, Actually, where one of us comes prepared with information and the other is just along for the ride.

This week, Maddie takes Ashton down a rabbit hole involving Port and Starboard, two infamous orcas with a reputation that's anything but adorable. What starts as a casual conversation about killer whales quickly turns into an unexpected marine biology lesson filled with questions and concerns from Ashton along with the usual chaos.

Because apparently, even the ocean has its own true crime stories.

Two best friends. One unexpected orca obsession. Absolutely no qualifications to discuss marine biology.

We could say less. But we won't.

  • Apparently, We’re the Adults | Adulting
    Oct 6 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

At some point, someone probably should’ve asked whether giving Ashton and Maddie microphones was a good idea. Unfortunately, nobody did.

In this episode of Say Less, Actually, we’re talking about the things we probably have no business being trusted with, the questionable decisions we’ve somehow been allowed to make as adults, and the moments that have made us stop and wonder: who exactly approved this?

From having entirely too much confidence with absolutely no qualifications to realizing there really isn’t a responsible adult coming to take over, we’re unpacking the mildly concerning reality that we’re apparently allowed to just… do things.

No supervision. Questionable judgment. Somehow still functioning.

    Who’s letting us do this?

    Apparently, us.

We could say less. But we won’t.

  • Distance Is a Safety Feature | Long-Distance Friendship
    Oct 6 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Welcome to the first episode of Say Less, Actually!

Where long-distance friends Ashton and Maddie turn the conversations they were already having into a podcast for everyone else to hear.

For our first episode, we’re asking a potentially dangerous question: what would actually happen if we were neighbors?

We’re planning our imaginary neighborhood life, establishing some boundaries, deciding how quickly an open-door policy would get out of hand, and figuring out exactly how long it would take before the neighbors started complaining about us. Somewhere along the way, we also realize that living in different states hasn’t actually stopped us from being involved in almost every unnecessarily small detail of each other’s lives.

Would living next door be the best thing that ever happened to us? Or are we long-distance friends for a reason?

    Probably both.

We could say less. But we won’t.
