This week we will dive into who God speaks to, how to hear God's voice and how we can respond to other people hearing God's voice. Samuel has been serving the Lord for nine years and still doesn't know Him. While the high priest Eli has been serving God's people for 30 years in the same temple as Samuel, God appears to Samuel and speaks to him in person. Why would God choose to speak to Samuel?

This week we're starting a new sermon series in 1 Samuel, a book written in a time when "everyone did what was right in their own eyes." This Sunday we will look at Samuel's origin story and how we share many commonalities and struggles with his mom Hannah. You'll see how Hannah's faithfulness changes the direction of a nation and how we can lend the gifts we have been given from the Lord to impact those around us.
