His relics were uncovered on July 5, 1422, after the monastery had been devastated by a Tatar invasion. Saint Sergius is known for his deep spiritual insight into the Holy Trinity and for his role in strengthening the Russian Church and nation through prayer and example. His monastery became a center of faith, learning, and defense during difficult times.

  • The Burial of Saint Andrew the Prince

    Today we remember Holy Prince Andrew Bogoliubsky, a devoted warrior and builder who combined military courage with deep faith and love for the Church. Known for his prayerful life from youth, he played a key role in the spiritual and political life of northeastern Rus. Saint Andrew is especially remembered for bringing the wonderworking Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God to Vladimir and for his efforts to strengthen Orthodoxy through church building, liturgical creativity, and peace-making. He was martyred in 1174, and his legacy continues to inspire the faithful.
