  • CRACK BABY EPISODE 1 : WHO AM I?
    Oct 30 2023
This is episode 1 in a series of episodes where i share how g enerations of African American families living in inner cities have been plagued by persistent poverty. The situation was exacerbated during the 80s and 90s, when crack cocaine became widely used. Crack addiction became an all-consuming obsession for many, taking over their lives and causing them to neglect their family responsibilities. I want to make it clear that my mother never used drugs and there were no traces of drugs in my system when I was born. However, like many black children growing up in the inner city, the impact of crack was all around me, influencing my surroundings both directly and indirectly. As a result, I identify as a "crack baby".
