January 15th, 2026 Season premiere. Episode 24. And we’re not easing into it.

The River Valley Podcast returns with a packed double-header edition of Talk of the Town with Bonnie. Bonnie first sits down with Jillian Bell of the Lumsden Community Band, talking music, community, and the role the band continues to play in local culture.

Then Bonnie welcomes Kaige Bender, local musician, songwriter, and singer, who debuts his very first single on the episode.

We also open the files once again with Did You Know, and bring you another Past, Present, and Proud segment, this time recognizing the women of our past who were rarely documented or recorded, despite being major contributors to the growth and strength of our community.

Local voices. Local music. Local history. Episode 24 sets the tone for the season.

We made it. One full year of telling the stories that matter in our community, and this episode marks our official one-year anniversary.

We kick things off with From the Files of Did You Know, digging into another piece of local history that reminds us why this valley has so much character. Then it’s a special Past, Present, and Proud as we feature Dave Cameron, a name that needs no introduction around here and a story well worth hearing.

Bonnie is back with Talk of the Town, sitting down once again with Mayor Verne Barber for a full year-in-review and a look ahead at what’s coming for Lumsden in 2026. We also break down the highlights from the most recent town council meeting, keeping you informed on the discussions and decisions shaping our community.

And of course, our favorite librarian Karen returns with everything you need to know about what’s happening at the library this January, including programs, events, and reasons to stop in and say hello.

This episode is a celebration of local voices, shared history, and the people who make this community what it is. Thanks for being part of our first year. We’re just getting started.

    • Christmas Special (Dec.15/25)

The River Valley Podcast leans into the holiday chaos this episode as Bonnie and Dan embrace the Christmas season with festive banter, unfinished shopping confessions, and a dose of seasonal silliness. Things get especially merry and mildly unhinged when Bonnie sits down with Twizzle Fizzlenut, a thoroughly stressed-out elf who gives an inside look at the barely controlled mayhem inside Santa’s workshop.

Between the holiday fun, the episode delivers important local content. Dan takes the lead on a detailed report from the Town Development Committee meeting, walking listeners through discussions on housing projects, parking concerns, and public feedback. It’s a clear, straightforward rundown designed to keep the community informed without putting anyone into a nap.

The episode also features a Past, Present, and Proud segment honoring Dr. Norman William Anderson, a pioneering doctor whose work was vital to Lumsden’s early years. Community events get their moment as well. Plus, from "The Files Of Did You Know" the Christmas Bird Count.

The show wraps up with a special Lumsden-themed version of The Night Before Christmas and a reflection on the podcast’s first full year, marking the growth, the support, and the fact that this small-town show is still going strong.

      Festive, local, and proudly Lumsden.
