À propos de ce contenu audio

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Rhode Island Weather Podcast for Saturday, February 21st. Folks, I hope you're enjoying the quiet tonight, because a monster is coming. Right now you're sitting around 34 degrees under gray skies. Pretty tame. Almost boring. Here's the deal though. This is the deep breath before the scream. Tonight, temperatures slide into the mid 20s with a slight chance of snow around 8 PM. Providence might see patchy fog after 10. Nothing dramatic yet. But tomorrow? Everything changes. The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for all of Rhode Island starting 4 PM Sunday through 7 AM Tuesday. Let that sink in. We're talking heavy snow falling 2 to 4 inches per hour. Winds gusting to 55 miles an hour. Whiteout conditions. Total snowfall between one and two feet. This is the kind of storm where you lose your car in the driveway. Down in the Providence area, you'll hit 36 degrees tomorrow afternoon. Enjoy it. Snow rolls in after 4 PM, then turns heavy Sunday night. Monday's high barely scrapes 33 with gusts near 47 miles an hour. Over along Narragansett Bay, it's even windier. Gusts reaching 51 miles an hour. You're looking at 7 to 11 inches by Monday morning, with another 15 to 21 possible through Monday. Coastal flooding is a real concern during Monday's early morning high tide. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Monday is a snow day, plain and simple. Travel will be nearly impossible. Tuesday clears out but stays brutal. Highs in the low 30s, lows plunging to 12 degrees. Wednesday brings a slight chance of light snow with highs near 37. Thursday warms to 41 with possible showers. Friday starts messy with rain and snow, then clears near 39 degrees. Bundle up and stock up tomorrow morning. You'll want groceries, batteries, and patience. One more thing. If this podcast helps you stay ahead of storms like this, share it with a neighbor. That's how we grow. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there, folks.
