"....And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." In Genesis 1:2, we can see that the holy spirit has been a part of the trinity since the beginning. The holy spirit is our helper and guide and now lives on the inside of us. Tonight's bible study reassures us that we need the holy spirit to live a righteous and holy life. One Lord, One Faith. In today's lesson, coming from Ephesians 4:1-14 NLT, we learn that we are all called by God and have special gifts. It is our assignment to seek God and find out what is our purpose in this life. Most importantly, each gift comes together to unite us in the body of Christ. So yes, you are special to God. You have a calling and purpose on your life. Walk into it with the holy spirit as your guide and shine bright. Be blessed and encouraged.

I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. In today's lesson we learn to find peace and contentment in God by meditating on his word, praying, and including him in every decision we make. When God is on our side, there is no care in this world that can overtake us. Be blessed and encouraged.

Tonight's bible study taught us to press towards the heavenly goal, the higher calling. Often times, we focus on our goals here on earth; this can include career, family, financial, the list goes on. Setting goals here on earth is fine. But as Christians, we should set our thoughts on the ultimate goal, receiving our heavenly reward. For what does it profit a man to gain the world, but lose his soul? Be blessed and encouraged.

Why did Jesus choose Judas? Knowing that he would betray him, he still chose him to fulfill prophecy. So we pose the same question to you. Why did Jesus choose you? Knowing all of our short comings and faults, we were still chosen by God to fulfill his purpose in our lives. That is something to shout about! Be blessed.
