  • DAY 293--“POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS”
    Oct 20 2026

    DAY 293
🔥 “POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS”
    Series: THE CHURCH IS BORN
    📖 Acts 3

The greatest power of the church has never been found in its resources, programs, or personalities. It has always been found in the risen Jesus Christ!

In Acts 3, Peter and John are heading to the temple for prayer when they encounter a man who has been lame from birth. Every day, this man is carried to the temple gate to beg for money. His life has been defined by physical limitations and dependence upon the generosity of others.

But on this particular day, everything changes.

The man asks Peter and John for money, expecting another small gift to help him survive.

Instead, Peter gives him something completely unexpected.

    📖 Acts 3:6
"Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!"

Immediately, the man's feet and ankles are strengthened. He stands, walks, leaps, and begins praising God!

A man who had never walked before is now walking into the temple!

But here's what makes this chapter so powerful.

The miracle was never intended to make Peter famous. It was intended to make Jesus known!

As the astonished crowd gathers, Peter immediately redirects their attention away from himself and toward the risen Christ.

He boldly proclaims that Jesus, whom they had rejected and crucified, has been raised from the dead.

The healing was not accomplished through Peter's personal power or holiness. It happened through the authority of Jesus Christ.

And then Peter delivers the message that matters most.

    📖 Acts 3:19
"Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out."

    What an incredible promise!

The man at the temple gate needed physical healing, but the crowd gathered around Peter needed something even greater.

    They needed forgiveness.

    They needed reconciliation with God.

They needed salvation through Jesus Christ.

And the same is true for us today.

🔥 Here are four powerful truths from Acts 3:

✅ 1. Jesus Christ is alive and still at work.
The apostles weren't proclaiming the memory of a dead religious teacher. They were witnesses of the living, resurrected Savior.

✅ 2. God's power should always point people toward God's glory.
Peter refused to take credit for the miracle. His desire was not personal recognition but gospel proclamation.

✅ 3. Our greatest need is spiritual, not material.
We often come to God seeking relief from difficult circumstances, but our greatest need is forgiveness and a restored relationship with Him.

✅ 4. The greatest blessing is being turned away from sin and toward Christ.
Acts 3:26 reminds us that God sent His Servant to bless His people by turning them from their wickedness. That's a blessing far greater than anything this world can offer!

Here's the challenge for us today:

When God places hurting, struggling, or searching people in our lives, are we simply trying to improve their circumstances, or are we also pointing them toward Jesus?

Christian compassion should always move us to care for people's physical and practical needs. But we must never forget that humanity's greatest problem is sin, and our only Savior is Jesus Christ.

The miracle opened the door. The gospel delivered the message. And Jesus received the glory!

🎙️ Join me for Day 293 of Story of Scripture — “Power in the Name of Jesus” as we discover how one extraordinary miracle became an opportunity to proclaim the transforming power of the gospel.

The church's greatest treasure is not silver or gold. It is the glorious message of Jesus Christ crucified, risen, and reigning!

  • DAY 292 --THE SPIRIT COMES”
    Oct 19 2026

    DAY 292
    🔥 “THE SPIRIT COMES”
    Series: THE CHURCH IS BORN
    📖 Acts 2

The church was not born through human strength, impressive programs, or powerful personalities. It was born through the power of the Holy Spirit!

In Acts 2, we witness one of the most significant moments in redemptive history—Pentecost. Just as Jesus promised, the Holy Spirit descends upon the believers, empowering them to proclaim the gospel and marking a new chapter in God's unfolding plan of redemption.

For centuries, God's presence had been associated with the tabernacle and the temple. But now, through the finished work of Jesus Christ, something extraordinary happens. God's Spirit comes to dwell within His people!

    And the results are remarkable.

🔥 The Spirit empowers believers to proclaim the gospel boldly. Peter, who had previously denied Jesus, now stands before thousands and fearlessly declares that Jesus is both Lord and Christ.

🔥 The gospel reaches across cultural and linguistic barriers. People from many nations hear the mighty works of God proclaimed in their own languages, revealing that the message of salvation is intended for the nations.

🔥 Hearts are convicted and lives are transformed. When Peter preaches Christ crucified and risen, the people are cut to the heart. Approximately 3,000 receive the message and are baptized.

🔥 A Spirit-filled church begins to flourish. The believers devote themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. Their lives are marked by generosity, worship, unity, and a genuine commitment to Christ.

And Acts 2:47 reminds us of something every church needs to remember:

"And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."

The early church did not grow because it discovered a clever strategy. It grew because God was powerfully at work through His Word and His Spirit.

    That same truth remains today.

We can build buildings, develop ministries, create programs, and organize outreach events. But only God can transform a human heart.

A Spirit-filled church isn't primarily identified by the excitement of its gatherings, but by its devotion to Scripture, commitment to prayer, pursuit of holiness, love for one another, and bold proclamation of Jesus Christ.

And here is the incredible encouragement for every believer: The Holy Spirit who empowered the church at Pentecost is the same Spirit who indwells everyone who belongs to Jesus Christ today.

We have not been called to live the Christian life in our own strength.

We have been called to walk in the Spirit, proclaim the gospel, and live for the glory of Christ.

The church doesn't need a new source of power. We need renewed dependence upon the Holy Spirit and renewed faithfulness to the Word of God.

🎙️ Join me for Day 292 of Story of Scripture — “The Spirit Comes” as we discover how God established His church and why the events of Pentecost still matter for every believer today.

The same gospel. The same mission. The same Holy Spirit. And the same risen Savior!

  • Day 291 — “The Ascended King”
    Oct 18 2026

    Day 291 — “The Ascended King” | Acts 1

The ascension of Jesus was not a goodbye or the end of His work. It was the declaration that the crucified and risen Christ now reigns as King. Jesus returned to the Father, promised His disciples the power of the Holy Spirit, and sent them to be His witnesses “in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The disciples wanted to know God’s timetable. Jesus gave them a mission. They were to wait for the Spirit, then carry the good news of His life, death, and resurrection beyond the boundaries they knew.

That mission still belongs to the church. We are not sent in our own strength or to promote ourselves. We bear witness to Jesus, trusting the Spirit He has given and the authority of the King who reigns.

And the ascension points us toward another promise: the same Jesus who went up will come again. Until that day, we live with hope and purpose: the ascended Christ reigns, the Spirit empowers, and the mission continues.

Listen to today’s episode of Story of Scripture as we explore Acts 1 and the hope we have in our reigning King.
