🎙️ ARE YOU REALLY WORSHIPPING GOD?

Psalm 33 says, “Sing to Him a new song.”

But what does that actually mean? 🤔

Does God want Christians constantly writing new worship songs? Is worship about having the right music, the right voice, or the right emotional experience?

Not exactly.

In this episode of Refuge & Strength, Pastor b.Side dives into Psalm 33:1–5 and uncovers what God actually wants from our praise.

🔥 Praise isn't supposed to be half-hearted. 📖 Worship isn't supposed to be empty repetition. 🎵 A “new song” isn't necessarily a new song. ❤️ True praise flows from understanding what God has done.

When you really understand God's mercy, grace, forgiveness, righteousness, and salvation, something should happen inside you.

You don't just know about God.

You rejoice in Him.

And Psalm 33 says that kind of praise is beautiful.

What should we do when we truly understand God and His mercy?

In the final study of Psalm 32, we look at David’s powerful testimony to forgiveness, correction, instruction, and restoration. David experienced firsthand the consequences of trying to hide his sin—and the overwhelming mercy of a God who refused to leave him in rebellion.

Psalm 32 reminds us that God’s forgiveness isn’t a license to keep living according to our own desires. His mercy equips us to receive His wisdom, follow His instruction, trust His leadership, and walk in righteousness.

David also warns us: don’t make God treat you like a stubborn mule. 😂 Sometimes God’s correction is painful, but His discipline is an expression of His mercy and His commitment to accomplish His purposes in us.

And ultimately, Psalm 32 ends with a command—not merely a suggestion:

“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”

If we’ve been forgiven, cleansed, and reconciled to God by His mercy, how could we respond with anything less than gratitude and praise?

Recognizing the Goodness of God | Refuge & Strength — Psalm 32

What does it really mean to experience the goodness of God?

In Part 3 of our journey through Psalm 32, Pastor b.Side explores one of the greatest expressions of God’s goodness: His mercy and forgiveness.

David’s story reminds us that God’s goodness isn’t ultimately measured by the temporary blessings we receive. It begins with something far greater—the forgiveness of sin and restoration of our relationship with Him.

Psalm 32 takes us from the misery of hidden sin to the freedom of confession, repentance, forgiveness, and refuge. David discovered that the God he once tried to hide from became the God he desperately wanted to run toward.

One Cause For Depression

What happens when guilt, conviction, and unconfessed sin weigh heavily on the heart? In Psalm 32, David gives us a brutally honest look at what happened when he tried to hide his sin from God. His silence left him spiritually drained, weakened, and without vitality—but God’s correction ultimately led him toward confession, repentance, forgiveness, and restoration.

What does it really mean to be “blessed”?

Psalm 32:1–2 gives us a radically different picture than the way our culture often uses the word. Biblical blessing isn’t primarily about comfort, success, possessions, or getting what we want—it’s about something infinitely more valuable: God’s mercy, forgiveness, and the removal of our spiritual debt.
