I'd like to tell you a story about a coming moment in time when a certain number of people will vanish from the Earth. Though it may sound like the beginning of a classic sci-fi movie, it is actually a story at the center of much of American Evangelicalism. You may know this story as "the rapture." What you might not know is that this story was created in the 1830's and it is common in only one place, America.
