The Texas Rangers lost another series, this time at Detroit. The offense scored five times in the series-opening win Friday but only one run in each of the weekend losses. A team can only give the opposing pitchers so much credit. At some point, things need to change, and perhaps the Rangers will consider some changes to rejuvenate the offense. Too many hitters have gone cold. Really, Josh Jung is the only hot hitter. The rotation didn’t have a great performance at Detroit, either.

Jacob Latz joined the show to break down his evolving role with the Texas Rangers after competing for a rotation spot in spring training and now becoming a trusted late-inning bullpen arm. Latz discussed closing games, handling high-leverage situations, and how the Rangers are using a bullpen-by-committee approach instead of a traditional closer.

He explained how matchups, hitter tendencies, and game situations determine who gets the call, with names like Jacob Junis, Cole Winn, and Tyler Alexander all factoring into late-game leverage spots. Latz also shared how mechanical adjustments and a bullpen mindset helped his velocity climb back to 97 mph this season.
