In 2020, Michael Rainsford, a popular 20-year-old skateboarder, was fatally shot through his kitchen window while preparing to visit his girlfriend. The culprits were two brothers, Michael and James Foy, who sought revenge following an unrelated incident. The investigation benefited from social media evidence, particularly Snapchat, which exposed their actions that night. Notably, the Foys had a criminal history. In March 2021, both were sentenced to life in prison, with Michael facing a minimum of 30 years and James a minimum of 28 years. Three others were also sentenced for obstructing justice.
