In this wrap‑up episode, Queen P and Queen H revisit the moments that made us laugh, the lessons that pushed us to grow, and the voices that left a lasting impact. They share behind‑the‑scenes reflections, listener highlights, and what this season taught them about resilience, advocacy, and joy in the midst of the work. From the cases that stretched us to the conversations that healed us, this season reminded us why the work matters — and why community has kept us going.

Whether you’ve been with us since Season 1 or just joined, this episode is a celebration of you — the social workers, caregivers, helpers, and healers who show up every day with heart and purpose.

As the last episode before the Queens take a break this episode is a celebration of all they have accomplished over the last 5 years. So grab your crown and come reflect with us. And most of all thank you for you on going support.

Social workers of color face immense challenges—systemic racism, underfunding, and overwhelming caseloads. They work tirelessly to support others but often lack the support they need. That’s why we created the Queens of Social Work Podcast—a lifeline and safe space for social workers of color to vent, share, laugh, and find the resources they need to thrive.

    • Pressing Pause: The Realities of Podcasting
      Jan 20 2026

      Send us a text

In this episode, we open up about the moment we realized it was time to step back from the mic. Not because the passion was gone, but because life was speaking louder than the recording schedule. We talk through the signs that told us we needed a break, the internal tug‑of‑war between “keep going” and “slow down,” and the clarity that came once we finally chose rest with intention.

We’re joined by two incredible guests — Queen M and Queen K — who share their own journeys with stepping away. Queen M reflects on what it meant to pause during a season of transition and how giving herself space helped her reconnect with purpose. Queen K opens up about balancing caregiving, social work, and her own well‑being, and how taking a break became an act of self‑preservation rather than self‑doubt.

      Together, we explore:

      • How to recognize when consistency is turning into pressure
      • The emotional weight of deciding to pause something you love
      • What it looks like to rest without guilt
      • And the unexpected insight that comes from stepping back long enough to breathe

If you’ve ever wrestled with the decision to slow down — especially when your work is rooted in service, creativity, and community — this conversation offers honesty, companionship, and a reminder that rest is not a retreat. It’s a recalibration.

You can find Queen M on IG @styleandvibes and Queen K @carryonfriends.

    • Heart Work: Caring for Parents While Caring for Others
      Jan 6 2026

      Send us a text

In this powerful episode, we sit down with our friend to the show, Queen K, to explore the deeply personal and often complicated journey of being both a Social Worker and a caregiver for a parent. Together, we unpack the emotional weight, cultural expectations, and practical challenges that come with caring for loved ones while continuing to serve others in our professional roles.

Queen K shares candid reflections on balancing compassion for clients with the demands of family caregiving, highlighting the unique perspective Social Workers bring to this experience. We discuss the importance of boundaries, self-care, and community support, as well as the ways cultural values shape how we show up for our parents and our communities.

This episode is a heartfelt reminder that caregiving is more than a duty—it’s a story of resilience, love, and humanity that connects us all.
