Good evening. Puerto Rico. I'm Aaron Jolly. That gentle breeze you felt overnight? It's just getting started. We only saw a trace of rain yesterday, but today the trade winds are bringing scattered showers back into the picture. In the next 24 hours. Let's start in Metro San Juan. You're waking up to 75 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Showers become more likely as the day progresses, with a 40 percent chance by afternoon. Highs reach 81 degrees. And hold onto your hats — east winds gust to 28 miles an hour. Tonight, shower chances increase to 50 percent with a low around 76. Head south and it's a warmer story. Southern Puerto Rico starts the day at 72 degrees under mostly clear skies. Sun dominates the morning, then scattered showers develop after noon. Highs climb to 89 degrees. That's toasty. Gusts could hit 31 miles an hour. Showers taper off by 9 P.M. Tonight. Over in Western Puerto Rico, temperatures sit at 69 degrees early. Afternoon brings the highest shower chances region-wide — 60 percent after noon. Highs reach 85 degrees with lighter winds compared to the rest of the island. Here's what matters today. A High Rip Current Risk remains in effect through Friday night for north and east-facing beaches. Breaking waves of 6 to 7 feet mean dangerous conditions for swimmers. Small craft should stay in port — advisories continue through Saturday morning. Expect more of the same. Breezy easterly winds, passing showers. And highs holding steady in the low to mid 80s. By early next week, shower chances ease slightly. One more thing — tonight's full moon rises at sunset. With spring equinox just two weeks away, we're gaining over a minute of daylight each day now. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
