I hope you enjoyed our previous conversation with Professor Ibrahim Habli and Dr. Laura Fearnley, where we explored the ethics of AI and the emerging threat of AI-driven psychological harm. Professor Osman is a Decision Scientist and Policy Analyst supporting policy impact at Leeds Business School, University of Leeds. She is also an Honorary Associate of the El-Erian Institute of Behavioural Economics and Policy, Cambridge Judge Business School and a Research Associate of the Centre for Existential Risk, University of Cambridge. In 2025, she published pivotal work addressing the conceptual challenges of defining—and legally protecting against—psychologicalharm when it comes to the internet of things. This research is timely given the intensifying global debate surrounding online safety.
