This week, Jenna is joined by Dr. Sarah Jung, who in addition to being a part-time faculty member at Madison College, is also an Educational Psychologist working at UW-Madison in the department of surgery. It's a unique and interesting profession where she gets to use her Psychology background to improve the learning of medical/surgery faculty and students. Oftentimes careers in Psychology are in unexpected places, and you never know where your degree might take you!

      In this episode, Jenna talks with Madison College Psychology instructor Brad McDowell about his experiences working with youth in his various mental health positions. He discusses his path as a self-described "reluctant Psychology major," and how he was able to find his path by taking opportunities that presented themselves. He also talks about his consulting work with school districts, and about how being a first generation college student affected his choices. He has led adventure therapy, has traveled the world, has studied meditation in Tibet, and currently works with athletes on mindfulness applications.

Dr. Paletz is an experimental psychologist, and has had experiences in several different psychology laboratories over the course of his career. He is interested in the science of Psychology, and how learning and conditioning can be applied to both human and animal models. Dogs and pigeons and bombs, oh my!
