    • 4. Celebrity interviews and the Daily Mail w/ Elizabeth Day
      May 26 2023

It's another interview episode. This time we're joined by Elizabeth Day. We talk about her first newspaper column from when she was twelve, the ethics of book reviewing, and how a cop took Mic's copy of The Communist Manifesto.

The column we sacrificed to the journalism gods this week – an ode to the writing of Martin Amis by James Marriott – is unfortunately, since it's in The Times, is behind a paywall. Here's an archive link if you want to read it.

Elizabeth's new book, Friendaholic, is out now!

And she also recommended the novel Everything's Fine by Cecelia Rabess, which is out in June, but available for pre-order now, and the Netflix docudrama, Full Swing.

    • 2. Puberty Blockers
      Apr 28 2023

The media loves to hype up the risks of these powerful drugs, from the real-but-overstated impact on bone density to their imaginary ability to turn cis kids trans. We investigate how the media discusses trans healthcare for kids and *gasp* ask trans young people about their experiences of healthcare. As it turns out, the side effects are the least of their problems...
