      #3: The Iron Lady

This episode heavily features Margaret Thatcher, due to Brigid's wonderful impression. Interesting fact - on two occasions, I have dressed up as her.

Once for a University 80's themed party. Most people went as musicians, like Ozzy Osborne or Cher. A few people were in drag. No one else went as a politician.

The other time was to re-enact the opening of my secondary college. Mrs Thatcher opened my school when she was Education Secretary. I was asked if I'd do it as a poignant pisstake when the school was closed.

I didn't particularly enjoy either time, but it was definitely a laugh.

Florian Dreyfus talks in denial to Jamie about his broad range of (villainous) characters, plus what drama school is really like..

      #3: he's not typecast!

Why are we obsessed with retelling the same stories? As a race, have we really become that moronic?

The entertainment industry regurgitate the same content, over and over again, simply because it sells.

When a tragedy occurs, we're desperate to dramatise events simply

      Because that drama sells, too.

We've become lazy and suspicious of new stories.

That's why film ideas like a live-action version of bambi or a series

Dramatising the life of a mass murderer are made. Because it sells.

      Not because they are good.

Try listening or watching something new, instead of the same thing.

      Over and over and over.

And never elect Liz Truss or Donald Trump again.

#2: The Best People on Earth – Actors!

Except the actors are not really prestigious. They're shallow, talentless and vain. They share stupid fictional stories about things that never happened on sets of theatre, TV and film.

Guest uno is an actor named ‘Gurbanguly’, played by a man I know as Tomwar Helen Trigwell. Here are a couple of other names I referred to him during our adolescence :

      • ‘Napkin’ - He once offered to bring in the napkins.
      • ‘Big Fat Wanker’ - He once took slightly too long to walk up a hill. He was neither big, nor fat.

The idea someone could be so stupid that they heard a name in the news, thought it sounded interesting, took it as a stage name without doing due diligence and finding out who it was. Ultimately an idea we couldn’t resist.

The real Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is the former President of Terkmenistan and.. Dentist, of all things.

I’m not one for speculating, but I’d imagine the pleasures of painfully pulling teeth from his patient’s mouths wasn’t enough fun for him, so he became a brutal tyrannical dictator instead.

And I bet he was a crap dentist.
