Greatness responds to preparation and preparation begins with light. While grace can be imparted, light must be acquired. Fathers can impart grace, but they cannot see on behalf of their children. Sight is personal. It is learned, cultivated, and developed. The role of a father or teacher is not to replace your vision, but to teach you how to see for yourself from God’s Word.
This raises a crucial question: Who is your teacher?
Is it the experiences of life, or the Word of God engaged through intentional meditation?
Not every battle is a fight of faith. Many struggles persist simply because light is lacking. Meditation is the process that establishes a believer, aligning them with God’s perspective and transforming them from hearers into doers of the Word. Truth alone does not change a man, truth engaged does. Forgetful hearers encounter the Word repeatedly but never pause to consider, reflect, and return to it again and again. However, when the Word is received with thoughtfulness and sustained meditation, it reshapes perception, redirects decisions, and can cause a dramatic turn in one’s life.
