Most people see the caring side of healthcare, but behind the scenes there are moments that can be unpredictable, frightening and sometimes dangerous.

In this episode, we share some of the risks we’ve faced throughout our careers—from challenging encounters in A&E and working in prisons, to the realities of caring for patients during the COVID pandemic. We also talk about the less obvious risks, including working long shifts while pregnant, standing for hours, and the physical and emotional demands that healthcare professionals quietly accept as part of the job.

These are the stories that rarely make it into the textbooks.

What happens when you step away from the day-to-day of clinic life and give yourself space to think bigger?

In this episode of Playing Doctors and Nurses, we’re taking you behind the scenes of our Hosted Malta experience — including a live recorded diary whilst there - what it was really like, the conversations that challenged our thinking, the lessons we’re bringing back to clinic, and why stepping away from the business can sometimes be the thing that helps it grow.

We’ll share honest reflections on balancing ambition with family life, what surprised us most, ideas we’re excited to implement, and some of the funny, unexpected moments along the way (because it wouldn’t be us without those).

Whether you run a business, work in healthcare, or simply love hearing what happens behind the scenes, this episode is a real, honest conversation about growth, mindset, and what comes next
