Before her tragic murder on August 26, 2011, Amanda Plasse lived as a vibrant young woman in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The murder itself was a horrific and violent event, marked by a gruesome crime scene. However, what followed added more pain to her family's grief. Two police officers, meant to safeguard her apartment, took disrespectful photos of Amanda's lifeless body using their personal phones. These pictures were then shared widely, causing additional distress. The investigation took years, leading to the arrest and conviction of Dennis Rosa-Roman for Amanda's murder. Beyond seeking justice, Amanda's mother, Michelle Penna, fought for "Amanda's Law." This law, passed in August 2022, prevents first responders from sharing unauthorized crime scene photos, respecting the dignity and privacy of victims and their families in such tragic situations.
