Every year, History Happens hosts a summer pizza party to celebrate the hard work that went into National History Day that year4. This year, I sat down with some of our students—fresh from state and national competitions—to hear their stories in their own words.
From the nerves of first-time competitors to the thrill of hearing their name called at Nationals, these unscripted conversations highlight the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the confidence gained through the NHD experience.
