  • Calum Davenport
    Jan 24 2026

In this episode we dive into the rise and brutal fall of Premier League defender Calum Davenport, the powerful centre-back who came through Coventry City before earning his big move to Tottenham Hotspur and later West Ham United. At Spurs, Davenport was seen as a long-term prospect, gaining experience on loan before joining West Ham, where he fought for his place in the heart of their defence and looked set for a solid top-flight career. Off the pitch, though, tensions in his personal life were building, centring on family conflict, race, money and a new pregnancy that would ultimately bring unimaginable violence to his doorstep.

We’ll walk you through the events of that August night when Davenport, then a West Ham player and former Tottenham defender, was ambushed at his mother’s home in Kempston and stabbed repeatedly in both legs by his sister’s boyfriend. The attack nearly killed him, left him with life-changing injuries, a 15-inch scar and permanent nerve damage, and effectively ended his professional football career. In true-crime detail, we unpack the family dispute that led to the confrontation, the court cases that followed, and how a player once on the books at Tottenham and West Ham went from Premier League dressing rooms to an 18‑month battle just to walk properly again.
