On Sunday, Todd and his wife Donna joined us for our gathering. Todd is a renowned speaker and teacher. A big thanks to Todd and Donna for joining us.

In this gathering, Todd speaks about one of the most confronting questions of faith: Where is God when bad things happen?

He leans into the tension instead of avoiding it. Referencing Charles Templeton, who once ministered alongside Billy Graham, Todd highlights how the problem of suffering has caused even strong believers to walk-away. Templeton couldn’t reconcile a loving God with a world full of pain.

Todd doesn’t dismiss that struggle. He acknowledges it. But he challenges the assumption underneath it — that if God is loving and powerful, He must eliminate all suffering immediately.

He explains that the existence of evil does not logically disprove God. In fact, our very outrage at evil assumes a moral standard — and moral standards point to a Moral Lawgiver.

The message is honest, grounded, and thoughtful. It doesn’t offer simplistic answers. It invites trust in a God who sees beyond the moment.
