We talked about her background, her move from India to the United States, and how she managed to land a job at one of the 5 big publishing houses.

Her talent and passion for illustration and cover design were obvious, which is why, along with working for Macmillan, she’s worked for Google, Penguin Random House, Fast Company, and Vox, among many others.

As authors, we know our cover designs are our strongest marketing tool, and when we talked about how she designs them, I had a real aha moment.

It's not very often that I get an opportunity to speak to a non-fiction author, but when I had the chance to talk to D M Batten, I jumped at the chance

Her autobiography is particularly significant as it explores open-mindedness, and non-traditional love, and caters to various niches such as coming-of-age, LGBTQIA+, twin flames, spiritualists, and those who dedicate themselves to serving God, regardless of their background or the trials they encounter in life.

As a college Professor and a PhD Candidate, Dolores has triumphed over seemingly insurmountable obstacles and been blessed with the ability to empathize with people from all walks of life, embracing diversity.
