À propos de ce contenu audio
Episode Five of the OTB Europe Podcast is here! This week's guest is PDGA Executive Director and wearer of many hats, Doug Bjerkaas. Doug joins Greggy Biscuits in the virtual studio to discuss his introduction to the sport, raising a World Champion (his daughter, Paige Shue), and his personal journey from beginner to organizer and, eventually, Executive Director.
Doug also takes time to focus on the global expansion of disc golf over the last half decade, with a focus on 2025 as a watershed year for disc golf growth globally. You will hear about initiatives to grow the women's and junior golf scenes and how the PDGA is providing resources to assist tournament directors in improving the tournament experience for all players. Doug and Greg touch on the upcoming schedule for PDGA Majors and take a moment to explain the newly minted PDGA Europa Cup, a new tournament for juniors and amateurs across Europe to compete for a prestigious title of their own. The pair also wax nostalgically about the 50th anniversary of both the first permanent disc golf course, Oak Grove, and the PDGA itself.
There is a lot to digest on this episode of The OTB Europe Podcast, so grab your headphones, settle in, and enjoy the conversation with the PDGA's Doug Bjerkaas. Thanks for listening!
