  • Hurricanes vs Flyers Awaiting Schedule | Duke's Amazon Deal | Big 12's Private Equity Gamble | 04.30
    Apr 30 2026

The Carolina Hurricanes know their second round opponent — the Philadelphia Flyers — but the schedule is still up in the air. Mike Maniscalco hangs out in studio to break down everything Canes related, from the latest injury updates to what the matchup against Philadelphia actually looks like when it tips off. OG Sports Phone calls are in the mix too. Then Chris Powers from Trophy Brewing and Jake Wood of Lawrence BBQ come through the studio to talk about Gettin' Piggy With It — a great event taking place May 17th to raise money for the Frankie Lemmon School and one worth putting on your calendar.

On the college basketball front, Duke has been running silent since their Elite 8 collapse — but the Blue Devils are making noise again. Jon Scheyer continues to run hot on the recruiting trail and the program just agreed to an unprecedented broadcast deal with Amazon that raises a very real question — is this the future of sports on television? Throw in the Big 12's new private equity deal, fans need to get ready for another new era of college sports.

And since Ovies and Giglio are live on YouTube, there's no telling where the conversation goes from there.

  • NCAA Tournament Expanding To 76 Teams | NC State & ECU Baseball | Brind'Amour Wants MORE Replay | Portal Updates | 04.29
    Apr 29 2026

The NCAA is moving toward expanding the men's and women's basketball tournaments to 76 teams as soon as next season — and Ovies and Giglio are not on the same page about it. Giglio is firmly in the "more is more" camp and welcomes an expanded field that keeps pace with the growing number of Division I basketball programs. His issue isn't with the expansion itself — it's with how the NCAA is planning to implement it, and he has a better way to do it. Ovies meanwhile is less focused on the bracket and more focused on the bigger picture — the writing is already on the wall for the future of college sports, and it ends with the SEC and Big Ten getting exactly what they want every single time. Then it's to baseball, where NC State dominated ECU for the second time this season. But the segment goes deeper than the box score — it's really a conversation about where both programs stand in this new era of college sports. The Lightning Round covers Rod Brind'Amour sounding off on replay review, the latest hoops portal updates and more.

  • Rest vs. Rust Debate For Canes | Roster Clarity For Duke, UNC & NC State | NCAA 5-in-5 Model | 04.28
    Apr 28 2026

Rest vs. rust. It's one of the most classic debates in playoff sports — and the Carolina Hurricanes are right in the middle of it after sweeping Ottawa while Pittsburgh continues to grind through their series against Philadelphia. What does history actually say about teams that spend extended time between rounds? Ovies and Giglio dig into the numbers and the narrative before shifting to college basketball, where the transfer portal has closed and roster clarity is finally starting to emerge across the Triangle. Duke has quietly reloaded with a different wrinkle to how Scheyer is approaching roster construction this offseason. UNC and NC State are both still staring at significant holes in their lineups — but for very different reasons. Then a conversation about the NCAA's push toward a 5-year eligibility rule — is this a genuine reform or simply a backdoor attempt to implement age limits and streamline a system that college administrators have been trying to control for years? Throw in some NBA talk, OG Sports Phone calls and a playlist review and you've got yourself a full show.

  • Hurricanes built different for playoffs | Panthers nailed their NFL Draft | Why is Jordon Hudson FOIAing UNC? | 04.27
    Apr 27 2026

Demetri Ravanos is filling in for Giglio today and the show is packed from start to finish. Ovies and Demetri open with the one big takeaway from the NFL Draft that everyone keeps coming back to — NIL's impact on the available draft pool. Some executives viewed this year's class as losing an entire round of the draft, with a significant chunk of players choosing to stay in college thanks to NIL payouts that already exceed the roughly $900,000 minimum of an NFL rookie deal. It makes complete financial sense — but all of that could change if college administrators alter eligibility rules in the coming months. Then again, consensus in college athletics is fleeting — just ask everyone still trying to sort out a new College Football Playoff format. David Covucci of FOIABall jumps on to break down the absurd expense of changing the CFP logo, why Jordon Hudson is sending FOIA requests to UNC administrators, and the surprising reality that college football attendance has actually dropped based on scanned ticket data.

Then Ryan Didoshack of Hot Garbage Sports on YouTube joins to break down the Carolina Hurricanes sweep of the Ottawa Senators and what makes this year's version of the Canes genuinely different from previous playoff runs. LockedOn Panthers host Julian Council then puts a wrap on the Carolina Panthers draft haul — a sensible draft for a franchise that has cleared a very low bar in recent history, with real questions about whether these additions can make an immediate impact as Carolina chases the NFC South. OG Sports Phone calls close it out.

The Carolina Hurricanes are through to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Four games. One sweep. And Logan Stankoven cooking at the perfect time. OG After Dark is live following a series clinching win that had everything — Stankoven's game winning goal to cap a dominant 4 goals in 4 games performance, a desperate and physical Ottawa squad that was handed multiple power play chances in a pivotal second period, and a Carolina penalty kill that was absolutely crucial when the series was on the line. Ovies and Giglio are live with the immediate reaction to the sweep and what's next for Carolina.

The OG Mailbag is open and nothing is off limits this week. The Dundon discourse. What the transfer portal is doing to the emotional wellbeing of college basketball fans. The Carolina Panthers trusting the process at the NFL Draft. Fan gatekeeping — and who actually gets to hold the keys. Whether rock music is genuinely dead or just resting. • Hurricanes Suffocate Ottawa, Take 3-0 Stanley Cup Playoffs Lead | Panthers Draft Freeling | 04.23
    Apr 24 2026

Ovies and Giglio are live on YouTube following a dominant Carolina Hurricanes performance that puts the Canes in complete control of their first round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Ottawa Senators. Up 3-0 and looking every bit like a team built for a deep run, Carolina did the little things right all night — keeping Ottawa's top line flustered and getting another standout performance from Freddie Andersen and a second line that has quietly become the defining story of this series. The power play was a non-factor for both teams — including a head scratching Ottawa power play that generated only one shot on 90 seconds of 5-on-3 — but the Canes didn't need it.

Then it's to the NFL Draft, where Fernando Mendoza heading to the Raiders felt obvious — but Ty Simpson going to the Rams at 13 had a lot of people scratching their heads. The Carolina Panthers meanwhile used pick 19 on Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling — not the position most predicted but potentially a savvy long term move for a franchise that finally has a real plan.

  • OG Business: Geese, Industry Plants & How The Music Industry Never Stops Selling
    Apr 23 2026

What is an "industry plant" and why are the people looking for them so naive? It's a topic that has roots in the old concept of "selling out" and the audience's obsession with authenticity. Plus! ESPN doesn’t respect Western New York, WWE fans are in shambles, and Tom Dundon meets the NBA media.
