À propos de ce contenu audio

Jonathan Toye failed at his dream of becoming a great sportswriter and got a real job instead. Fortunately, anyone in America can start a podcast, so he can still get his takes off—while keeping his day job.

Jackson has been told he has a great radio voice and knows a ton about golf, plus a little less about many other sports.

Together with their extremely overqualified producer, sports casual, and friend, Dr. Jared Smith, they bring you Not-So Ball Knowers, a weekly podcast where Jackson delivers expert golf analysis and Jonathan pretends to be an expert on college football and basketball. They also attempt to cover major sports news across MLB, NFL, NCAA, and everything inbetween. Expect wild takes, interesting interviews, and general shenanigans from two sports-loving amateurs.

Occasionally, they interview guests who actually know what they’re talking about, which is another good reason to listen.

    • Not-So Ball Knowers: First Guest, Super Bowl LX, Basketball Parity, and This Week's PGA Leaderboard
      Feb 2 2026

In this episode, we’re joined by Sam DeFord and get into a little bit of everything we love arguing about. We talk through some feedback from our first show, then jump straight into college hoops — including how chaotic this season feels and what’s going on with Tennessee under Rick Barnes. From there we shift to the NFL, break down the latest coaching hires, and make our (very unofficial) Super Bowl predictions.

We also take a step back and look at the future of the New England Patriots, and what the post-Bill Belichick / Tom Brady era really means. Somewhere in between, we go off on a few personal health tangents, get hyped for college baseball season, and talk golf — including Justin Rose’s big moment and why we’re already looking ahead to the Masters Tournament. As always, it’s a mix of lukewarm sports takes, side stories, and technical difficulties.
