We’ve got a packed lineup covering Demons of the Shadow Realm, Ghost in the Shell, Liar Game, MAO, Sparks of Tomorrow, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, and One Piece, plus the latest One Piece manga discussion.

We break down the biggest fights, reveals, theories, character moments, and absolute insanity from this week’s episodes. We also dive into Sparks of Tomorrow, discuss the latest developments in Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, and take a detour for a blind ranking of anime tourist takes before entering the One Piece Corner.

Then it’s time for One Piece, where we discuss the latest anime episode, Loki, Elbaf, the Holy Knights, and how the anime is adapting some of the manga’s biggest moments. Manga readers can stick around for our spoiler discussion of the latest chapter and theories about what comes next for Luffy, Scopper Gaban, Imu, the Straw Hats, and the battle for Elbaf.

This week on the Normal Nerds Podcast, Maxwell and Davis break down and rank nine of the biggest ongoing anime series in our weekly anime recap and power rankings.

We cover:

• Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 – Is it still the most “perfect” anime airing right now?
• Sentenced to Be a Hero – The sword-forging episode might be the most epic moment of the season.
• Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 (Culling Games Arc) – Tokyo Colony chaos, new cursed techniques, and Yuji throwing hands.
• Hell’s Paradise Season 2 – The palace invasion begins and the Tensen fights escalate.
• My Hero Academia: Vigilantes – Aizawa’s backstory is coming… and we’re not ready.
• Fate/strange Fake
• Samurai Troopers
• Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider
• Fire Force Season 3

We debate which anime had the best episode of the week, which series is climbing in our rankings, and which one might fall off.

If you’re looking for a weekly anime podcast covering Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Hell’s Paradise, and more — this is your go-to recap.

Welcome back to the Normal Nerds Podcast with Maxwell and Davis for Weekly Anime Recap (Part 1)! This week we break down the season’s “big three”: Jujutsu Kaisen (Season 3 / Culling Games Arc), Frieren (Season 2), and Sentenced to Be a Hero (Episode 3). We talk insane animation choices, what hit (and what didn’t), story depth vs spectacle, and why some episodes land harder emotionally than others. From Maki’s absolute chaos in JJK, to Frieren’s peak storytelling and demon philosophy, to the “Majesty” stealing the show in Sentenced to Be a Hero—this one’s stacked. Drop your episode of the week in the comments and tell us which series is leading your anime season!
