As the energy transition continues, islands are becoming more interconnected than ever before. NESOI, the EU Islands Facility, plays a crucial role in linking over 2400 inhabited European islands. NESOI is a platform that provides funding and expertise to facilitate the decentralisation of energy systems and contribute to EU policy in achieving 2030 climate targets. Here you can look for financial backing and technical support, training programs, partnership prospects, and networks of individuals keen on creating a strategy to turn their own island green.
Within our project we have decided to go one step further and create a podcast series that can interest both the casual listener as well as the professional. The objective is to try to help you to understand the issues, problems and possible solutions regarding all the aspects concerning energy and islands.
In our first episode we will give you a brief overview on the peculiarities of islands in the energy transition, the opportunities of renewable energy transition and the legal aspects.
