Module 4 tackles a challenge many parents quietly struggle with: how do you support your child with compassion while still keeping some structure, boundaries, and expectations in place?
When a young person is finding life difficult, it can feel almost impossible to know what’s reasonable to expect — and what will simply overwhelm them. This module helps you find that balance.
We explore why expectations matter even when your child is struggling, how they contribute to emotional stability, and what happens when expectations disappear altogether. You’ll learn how to set fair, flexible expectations that meet your child where they are right now, without lowering the bar so far that everything becomes chaotic.
We also look at enforcing boundaries without guilt, handling pushback without being drawn into arguments, and adjusting expectations when things aren’t working — all while keeping the relationship steady and respectful.
By the end of this module, you’ll feel more grounded and confident in how to support your child with structure, clarity, and compassion, even on the tougher days.
