Good afternoon. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady drumming on your windows? It's not going anywhere just yet. We picked up about two-tenths of an inch of rain overnight. Step outside and you'll feel 47 degrees with that damp, misty chill that soaks right through a light jacket. A stalled front is draped right across the state. And it's messing with our afternoon. Baltimore Metro tops out near 51 degrees. You might catch a brief shower around 2 P.M. Down in Central Maryland, you're looking at 49 degrees with rain most likely between 2 and 4 P.M. Head west toward the mountains and you'll find similar readings near 50 degrees. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, fog becomes the main character. With all this moisture trapped near the ground and light winds, expect areas of fog to develop. Lows dip to around 43 degrees. If the mist lifts, you might catch a glimpse of the full moon. Thursday brings a modest warm-up. Baltimore reaches 56 degrees. Central Maryland hits 55. And Western Maryland climbs to 61. Rain becomes likely Thursday night with another quarter inch possible. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Saturday could be a stunner. We're talking highs near 70 in Baltimore and pushing 76 out west. That's about 42 degrees above normal for early March. A few showers or even a thunderstorm could interrupt the warmth Saturday night. Sunday and Monday stay mild in the mid-60s to near 70. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. Today's grey skies are giving way to something much warmer. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care! That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
