In this episode of Look to the Moon, we talk openly about mental health after birth trauma and baby loss, and the support options available for those navigating grief. We share our first-hand experiences with going to therapy, speaking to a GP, considering medication, and reaching out to baby loss charities.

Two and a half years after our own loss and trauma, we are still navigating the emotional ups and downs, learning to live alongside grief, and searching for hope. Whether you’re experiencing postnatal trauma, pregnancy loss, or the mental health challenges that follow, we want you to know you are not alone and that help is out there.

In Episode 16 we sit down with Cara who shares her story of losing her beautiful baby boy, Lochlan. At 21 weeks and 4 days gestation, Cara noticed a small amount of blood after going to the bathroom. Deciding to get checked out, it was discovered that Cara cervix was weakened and the doctors could see her membranes. After various interventions (including a cervical stitch), Lochlan was born at 22 weeks and 6 days gestation. After 9 long days in NICU, beautiful baby Lochlan passed away. We sit with Cara as she shares her incredibly emotional journey, just over 1 year after Lochlan's passing.
