À propos de ce contenu audio

Produced by Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation and Gibraltar Cultural Services, ‘Llanito exploring the Landscape’ delves into what Llanito is or means to people and how it is being used. We pose different questions in relation to Gibraltar’s unique expression and one thing seems clear, the topic continues to generate plenty of debate and difference of opinion, stirring many emotions and points of view.

Today, as we navigate our place in a rapidly changing world, Llanito continues to evolve. The younger generations are shaping it with new expressions and influences, while also grappling with language loss and the challenges of maintaining this unique linguistic heritage in a digital and globalised age. The question of what it means to speak Llanito or not to speak Llanito? is tied to broader questions about identity, community, and the future of Gibraltar itself. In this Podcast series we share the full interviews with the academics and linguists who featured throughout the series.
