    • Severus Snape - Always is a Lie
      Jan 28 2023

Take a sip of tea every time Arae says 'terrible'

Listen to us talk about the controversy that is Severus Snape's character, and whether we think his actions should be excused or not.

Was Snape in the right? What if Harry had looked like Lily instead of James? We guess you'll have to listen to find out : )

We do not support nor condone any of the author's actions or words.

    • The Great Gatsby - Nick is gay for Gatsby?
      Sep 27 2022

“And I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.”'

Arae and James discuss the classic American novel, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The book, set in 1920's long island, embellishes the intimate details of materialistic life mixed with long-term romantic tragedy. Is this classic novel overrated? Was Nick gay for Gatsby? Did Daisy truly love Gatsby at all? Listen to find out.  : )

“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter—tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And then one fine morning—So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

    • These Violent Delights - “A monster does not mourn.”
      Aug 26 2022

“The lover and the liar, the liar and the lover. They switched those roles between themselves like it was a game.”

Arae and James “converse” over These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. The novel is a suspenseful romance set in 1920s Shanghai, where two gangs, the Scarlets and the White Flowers compete heavily for the right to dominate their beloved city. Is this a classic enemies to lovers or is it just a tad too typical? Why is Roma white? Why is Juliette so hot? You’re just going to have to listen to figure it out, sorry, but also really not sorry.

“Empires can fall in mere hours. This one is no different. Here in Shanghai, whoever shoots first has the best chance of surviving.”
