Talking about sound there's lots to think about here. Where are you recording? Are you recording remotely or face-to-face? Check all your microphone settings and ensure you're using them correctly.
There's lots of ways you can find out about this online if you're using Zoom to record. There's loads of settings in there that can help you make the best possible sound for your recording.
If you're recording face to face, check your levels. Are you too quiet? Are you too loud? Is your interviewee too quiet or too loud?
Also check... and this isn't as silly as it sounds... CHECK You're actually recording!
