With the season now on the line, the Lakers faced elimination at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night. And the Lakers, on two occasions, fell behind by double digits and could've just given up, but LA willed themselves back each time and took the lead into the fourth quarter. But in crunch time, when the Lakers were the NBA's best this season, it was OKC that executed better and got the luck needed to get by on Monday night with a 115-110 victory to sweep LA four games to zero. The Lakers set out on their most important game of the season with a do-or-die matchup against Oklahoma City in Game Three of the NBA Playoffs Second Round. And even with Rui Hachimura and Luke Kennard lighting it up from three (9-14 combined), the Lakers could only muster a one-point lead at the half. But as has been the trend of the series so far, the second half proved to be a different story as the Thunder's superior depth wore down LA as they hit another gear and dusted off the Lakers in easy fashion, 131-108 to go down 3-0 and on the cusp of being eliminated. The Lakers looked to rebound from a disappointing loss in Game One of the Western Conference Semi-Finals as they faced off one more time against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. And after fighting tooth and nail with OKC and grabbing a precarious one-point lead at the half, the Thunder just like in game one never seemed deterred as they broke it open with a strong third and even a Lakers fourth quarter comeback to down five was easily thwarted due to turnovers, bad referees, and more depth on the part of the Thunder as they pull away to take a 2-0 series lead with a 125-107 victory over LA. The Lakers and Thunder faced off in game one of the Western Conference Semis of the NBA Playoffs on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.
