  • Knowing … our inner critic pt. 1
    Feb 13 2026

On this episode of Knowing Me, Knowing You, Trent chats with Dr Claus Springborg, the founder of Sensing Mind Institute – a school offering continuing professional development for psychotherapists, to discuss our inner critic and its role in our everyday life.

Claus is the author of books, such as “Transforming Self-Criticism” and “The 5 Knots – A Guide to Being-Centred Therapy”, as well as a university lecturer with a PhD in leadership development for his research on how cognitive science can deepen personal growth.

Together, Trent and Claus start this two-part conversation by finding out more about Claus, including where his interest in knowledge and learning started, the range of professional hats he wears, including his role supporting therapists through the Sensing Mind Institute, as well as some of his personal experiences and how it informs the work he does.

They go on to discuss topics such as the Diamond (Locus) approach and working with spiritually oriented psychotherapists before starting to unpack what inner criticism, how it impacts us and whether we actually have an “inner critic”.
