Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

What happens when your company splits into camps?

Ken shared a story from one of his sessions: Six leaders were at the table; four were aligned on a growth path but the sales leader dug in and said no which made one more leader start drifting his way. For a company of 70 people, this means the other 64 have to pick a side.

That's how a disagreement between two people cuts an organization in half.

To work through these types of conflicts, there are really only three paths: disagree and commit, live with the divide, or somebody exits.

What we covered:

→ How to tell when a disagreement has lived too long

→ Why ruling by consensus weakens your decision making

→ What disagree and commit sounds like

Thanks for spending part of your day with us! If you know a leader living in a divide right now, send this one their way.

Ken Bogard is my business partner and the founder of Know Honesty.

He shares his story of how he was an insecure eight year old with a bowl haircut and jeans that didn't fit. He later became a bartender who thought he was the best in the business, until a manager informed him he was mostly just cleaning the bar.

He hated that feedback, but it also changed his life.

From there he built a career fixing broken things, for almost ten years as an Expert EOS Implementer, and one day saw a rule on a session room wall that became Know Honesty.

Here’s what we covered:

→ Why bartenders make some of the best leaders

→ The day he realized his leadership teams were zombies

→ EOS explained in 95 seconds

→ The only three clients out of nearly 500 EOS never worked for

We debated doing this podcast for a year before we hit record… A whole year. Now here we are!

We've spent the better part of a decade teaching companies and leaders how to communicate. Now we're bringing those conversations to you.

In this first episode, we lay out the foundation of everything we teach: being 100% honest, truly and freely yourself, and being 100% open, listening without reservation.

And what happens when a whole team actually lives it out? We keep coming back to one word: Freedom.

We covered:

→ Why we finally said yes to this podcast after a year of going back and forth

→ The woman who repaired her relationship with her daughter in law after one conversation

→ What 100% honest and 100% open actually mean

→ Why honest teams make more money

→ The five topics everyone shoves under the table

Thanks for being here for episode one. It means a lot! We can't change how the world communicates without you, so if this sparked something, share it with somebody who needs it.
