À propos de ce contenu audio

It's time to get emotionally slutty. Just a mom, her coffee, her ADHD, her 90s nostalgia obsession and her old pink formica never updated kitchen counters. Here to relate to the cool moms who try to be Pinterest moms/parents ... And sometimes succeed and sometimes not so much. Let's normalize normal. I'll clear a spot for you at my cluttered kitchen table and let's just chat over some coffee.Katie Lynn Sciences sociales

  • Just A Mom and Her ADHD Traits
    Aug 3 2023

Emotionally Slutty rating of this episode: 4.5 - not too traumatizing. Just super rambly.

My ADHD brain really took the reigns on this one. I had a list that I tried to stick to and it didn't work out too well.

While I was recording the episode - I kept saying these were some of my toxic traits that funnel all down and coincide with my ADHD. And I was even going to name this episode "Just a Mom and her Toxic Traits" ... but after recording I felt really good at the end of the episode because I *THINK* I got my actual point across - and realized that these aren't TOXIC traits. These are my ADHD traits ... and my ADHD is not toxic. My brain is not toxic just because it functions differently than others.

So while that wasn't my initial intent of today's episode - I think I really got something for MYSELF out of this episode.

  • Just a Mom and Her Parenting 'Was Gunnas'
    Jul 20 2023

Emotionally slutty rating of this weeks episode: 6.8 out of 10. I didn't cry. So that's always good.

What were all the things you were gunna do as a parent ... before you actually became a parent?

Did you have a list of 'parenting goals' that you wanted to hit? Did you have this vision of who you were going to be as a parent?

I thought I was gonna be this amazing, pinteresty, suzie homemaker SAHM.

    BOY was I wrong!

I share some of my parenting 'was gunnas' and honestly - i could probably do a part 2 on this one.

Share your parenting "was gunnas" with me at amomandhercoffee@gmail.com and i'll read them on a future podcast! (with your permission, of course) - maybe part 2 of my own was gunnas!

WOW. We're not getting emotionally slutty in this episode but MAN is it full of ADHD rambling, speed talking, and jumping from thought to thought.

    ADHD slutty, if you will.

Welcome to the ADHD brain. *shrugs shoulders*

In this episode - I complain about kitchen counters - from aesthetics to functionality. I know it sounds silly - but I promise, if you are a chaotic mess (like myself) - it will make sense or be somewhat relatable.

Its really more about figuring out my ADHD triggers while working with my psychiatrist for meds and CBT techniques with my talk therapist.

I'm a constant work in progress. I just don't like it because I love instant gratification.

(i re-did the test and I'm still a "butterfly" which makes sense - but I still need to figure out how to be the butterfly that works with my ADHD)
