There are a lot of communication elements in creating a persuasive speech. In this podcast, we learn some communication theory that helps promote a persuasive speech. We will review communication theory and apply that theory to evaluate Jon Stewart's speech. Jon gave a speech criticizing the GOP for failing to pass the Veterans healthcare bill. The GOP first voted to approve the bill, but after a minor revision that didn't impact the bill, a procedure revision, the GOP voted against the bill. Jon Stewart spoke passionately about the GOP's failure to pass the bill. His speech went viral and aroused Americans from all political perspectives. The Veteran's health passed on the third vote. Many attribute the passing of the bill to Jon Stewart's speech.
