Welcome back to Jesus Speaks Farsi and our series, On Prayer: Voices from Iran and Beyond.

Prayer has always been foundational to Elam’s ministry and central to the life of the Iranian Church. In this series, we’re bringing together a voice from the Iranian Church and a voice from the wider Church to explore what we can learn from each other about prayer.

In today’s episode, Prayer as a Lifeline, Joe is joined by author and activist Joni Eareckson Tada and Elam team member Samira, who has spent the last 10 years navigating her son’s autoimmune disorder. Both of these women know what it is to wrestle in prayer through chronic suffering,

Why some people experience healings and others don’t, we can never know, but Joni and Samira share with us how they’ve learnt to give their pain to God every day, and live in the certainty of His goodness and blessings in their lives. Let’s get started.

Welcome to our new series of Jesus Speaks Farsi, On Prayer: Voices from Iran and Beyond.

Prayer has always been foundational to Elam’s ministry and central to the life of the Iranian Church. In this series, we’re bringing together a voice from the Iranian Church and a voice from the wider Church to explore what we can learn from each other about prayer.

In this episode, Chrissy speaks with pastor and author Francis Chan and Sara Akhavan, an Iranian church planter who spent time in prison because of her faith in Jesus. Together, they explore what it means to battle in prayer, because whether we face persecution like Sara or the ordinary struggles of everyday life, the fight is real.

Farshid spent five years in prison, and in this conversation he shares how he experienced the power of our prayers while in prison for his faith, and why he believes our prayers really matter for those facing persecution right now.
