He has held senior leadership roles at some of the UK’s largest mutuals, including the Co-operative Group and John Lewis Partnership, where he developed strategies to balance profit and purpose, supported the growth of employee ownership, and launched innovative ventures like John Lewis Financial Services and the Co-op’s online pharmacy.

    In 2022, Richard joined Action for Children, where he now leads strategy, impact, business planning, risk, and improvement. Alongside his professional career, he has served as Chair of Trustees for Childreach and sits on the Board of Trustees at the New Economics Foundation.
